Lancome & Eminence Products

Another products review!

I have recently fall in love with Eminence skincare line. Eminence is made in hungry and they are organic products. They have extensive lineup and currently this brand is used mostly in Spa, but it has became quite popular in HK. I tried few of their products, and here are my favourite ones so far.

Stone Crop serum and Wild Plum eyecream

The stone crop line is one of Eminence popular items. The stone crop line is specialized for problem skin, i.e. getting rid of pimples and fade out dark spot. I have been having a lot of issue with my acnen scar, so I want to give it a try. It has been working quite well, my spots have slowly faded out. I used it twice a day, each time, I will use 2 drops and rub it over the face (esp the problem area - but avoid the eye area). The price was $56
The wild plum eyecream is a very mild eyecream, its main target is to reduce tireness of your eyes, hydrate them. You do not need a lot of them each time as it is concentrated, just one pump for both eyes! I like it as it is very light and smell quite nice! hehe... The price is vary decent - $53

Lancome Cosematics

I have always wanted to try Lancome cosematics (haha Shu is very expensive in Canada ma), so I started off with its Mascara, and right after, I felt in love with it. It is so rich and most of all, it won't fall off after hours. I am currently using its Hypnose (it is targeted for volume) and I love it so much! I got it from outlet, so it is pretty cheap - $18

The next item that is now in my must have list is the Lancome liquid eyeliner! I have tried so many brand liquid eyeliner and no one come close to this Lancome one. It is so easy to use, super great for beginner and the colour is very dark (I have tried some, they are very light black). And most of all, it last long and easy to remove with makeup remover! :) Again, I got it from outlet - $22

I got the dark/ grey pallette from L'oreal warehouse sale (thanks to Monica for the ticket), the first I saw it, I was like the colour is sooo pretty. It has a bit of shimmer, so it is very nice. The reason why I like the dark colour pallette from Lancome is that I have tried its black eyeshadow (shimmer) before when I got a sample from the beauty advisor at Times, and then I played around with it (as most of you know, I don't like dark eyeshadow, I normally wear bright colour), but then I discovered the black eyeshadow from Lancome is super good. The colour is very outstanding and long lasting. I often used it as eyeliner! :) This pallette I got it for $16.50 - good deal! :)

Okay enough for this time, I will post more later! :)

Products that I regret on getting

Instead of writing all good comments about the products that I like, here is an entry of products that I regret on getting:

1. Shiseido The makeup brighening veil

This is a base for make up, I always trusted Shiseido makeup so I thought I would give it a try! This products does nothing to your skin - no colour, not even helping you to prepare your skin. I dislike this product so much that I only used it for few times to test it out. Now it is sitting in the drawer. Good that it was not expensive as I got it in the warehouse sale! LOL

2. Benefit Dr. FeelGood

I got this products as it claims from the booklet and the SDM lady that this will help to smooth out fineline after you put on your make up. It is a LIE! The product is like vaseline type of texture. Not that it WILL NOT smooth out the fineline, but I found that when you apply after doing your perfect makeup, it will take away your makeup and make your look messy. MAN I hate this products. -10 rating! ><

3. Clinique 102 forget me not eyeshadow pallette

I don't recall where did I get this pallette (probably one of the gift from the beauty lady). This pallette look very nice (nice packaging and sweet purple and pink colour). BUT when you apply to your skin, it has NO COLOUR whatsoever no matter how many layer you put on. I just found it waste of my time to use this pallette, so it sits in my drawers for year! HAHA...I am throwing it away after taking the photo for this entry! I don't particularly like the Clinique products as I found their stuff is not that great, I proved to myself right again after using this shadow! LOL

4. Motives mineral powder

I tried mineral powder because it claims that it is better for your skin. So I purchase the Motive mineral powder. The unqiue thing about this powder is that it is customerized to your skintone (meaning the beauty advisor will blend your unique powder). However, I got bad blemish after using it. I guess it is just not for me. I am sure there are people out there who love motives stuff... but just not for me! :(

5. Shu Uemura eyeshadow pair

People often asked me, is there anything in Shu that you dislike as you seem to use a lot of their products? Well there is, and here they are. I don't like the texture of this eyehadow. The tube one is a liquidly paste, which is super hard to apply on your eyelid. The other one is like powder paste (sparkling thingy for your eyes) which I found is not fine enough to attach to the eyelid. The pair was expensive! I am so regret to use it. But I will finish it up as they are from Shu! LOL...

VitaCreme b12

It has been a while since I updated the blog..mainly due to laziness.
So...I want to write about VitaCreme b12 for a long time but never get to it.

It is a very popular cream in Asia as celebrities have claim that they cannot live without this cream.

Thanks to Eva. I got the cream from Vancouver (as it is not in sale in Toronto yet).

The cream with the vitamin b12 makes this cream very special. It is made in Switerzland and it is a all purpose cream and it claims
-to reduce fine lines
-to treat burn spot and any scar
-to treat sign of aging
- especially good for neck treatment (to reduce the appearance of aging in the neck area)
- help reduce the sign of dryness on your skin

My impression of the cream
-Vary expensive as it is $50 for a tube
- a very nice scent to the cream
- it is super easy to absorb in your skin and you don't feel greasy at all (which I love about)
- I have been using it for quite a while (I would say about a month) and I really like it as it improves the dryness and feel very comfortable on the skin
- I really love it as a makeup base (it also claim that it can serve as makeup base). I found that after you apply this cream on your face, it prep my skin so that the makeup set better on my face.

Overall I love this cream and I am asking Eva to re-purchase it for me this year! :)

Ladies hope you enjoy this review.

Orbis Puff Cleanser

I forgot the price for the bottle but I think it was about $78 HKD per bottle. This bottle tend to sold out in the store. So you can tell the popularity of this product.

A friend of mine recommend this products to me while I was in HK, so I give it a try and it was so good! haha... because I trusted this friend, actually I purchased 3 bottles while I was in the store (without really trying it at first LOL). I tested it out with a very dirty sponge, normally you use 1-2 drops, and it cleaned REALLY well. I used it once a week! Again, I think it is very crucial to have a good cleaning products for your sponge cuz it capture a lot of dirt and germs. So this is really a good product to have! 5 Stars!

Sassou Gold Leaf Soap

Instead of writing of how to use the soap, I think it will be a better idea to record a video to demonstrate how to use the soap instead. So, my camera was out of battery during my last bit, I was talking about how I like the soap.

There are few things I like about the soap:
- It does not leave the feeling of dryness after using the soap (you may sometimes feel dry after washing your face with cleanser foam or lotion type)
- gold leaves - Japanese believed that it will lighten the skin and enahnce the complexity - well, I am not sure if that lighten up my skin..but it does reduce the complexity in my skin. i.e I got "TERRIBLE" rashes from Hong Kong (well, still not recoever 100%) but since I start usingthis soap, my rashes has diminished a lot and my skin started to become normal.

The drawback:
- It is only available in Vancouver in Canada so you need to order online
- It is rather expensive - mine was purchase in Hong Kong for $399 HKD including the net to produce the foam

I guess you can make a fair judgement on whether it is worth the $$ to spend on a soap. But for myself, I have always spend most money on face cleanser/ soap because I believe the foundation of skin care is the "cleaning step" not the mositurizing step. That is just my little theory. Enjoy! :)

Chanel Products Review

Here is my review for Chanel products. (hmm...I did not purchase a lot from Chanel, although I really like their products as I have purchased too much from Shu but here are 2 products that I absolutely LOVE).

1. Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss - 55 Confidence - $245 HKD
As most of you know, I am NOT a fan of lip gloss / lip stick as I hate the feeling of something on the lip. Well, but then I have received the invitation from Chanel while I was in HK to try out their products, so I received a set of their newly launched Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss samples to play with. And I must say, I absolutely LOVE this new line (I wish I can purchase every single colour). There are 9 colours from the lip gloss line. The texture of the lip gloss is not greasy at all, and it create the "watery" look that they promise! I have chose #55 Confidence colour as it best match me. :) I think the lip gloss is reasonly prcied and I love it!

2. Cream foundation -01 - $290 HKD (refill)
As some of you know, I have previously mentioned that this is the best foundation (esp for Winter) as it helps to mositurize the skin. It also provide the best coverage (perfect when you have a lot of acene scar on your face). I just re-purchase the refill as usual. I have used this product in the winter for over 3 years now, and I am yet to find another product that can do the same job as this foundation... so I guess you can tell how much I love it! :)

3. Liquid Concealer - forgot the price
I have always search for a good concealer and I think I have found it. I used to use Bobbi Brown as I heard that it provide the best coverage.. well, let's say it does, but then Chanel did a better job! It really covered my dark circle well. Also, since it is in a liquid form, it is easier to apply. It comes in a lipgloss like package, you just have to put 5 dots under your eyes and you use your forth finger to blend it away! The best part of this product is that it won't have the blend mark that you may get with cream concealer. Another products from Chanel that I will stick with for sure! :)

3. Others
The Chanel Beauty advisor have did a full make up on me one day with their newly launched liquid foundation and loose powder. In previous review, I have mentioned that I chose Shu's over Chanel because of the price. But for sure, Chanel did have some advantages (powder are more fine and the liquid foundation is smoother) over Shu.. but it really depends whether you are willing to pay the extra money to buy them!

Shu Uemura (Make Up) Review

I am back from Hong Kong. And of course during my trip, I purchased a lot of skin care/ Cosmetics to test out (haha that is my hobby). This is my first review to the products that I purchased from Shu Uemura (trust me, the sales lady in Tai Koo loves me so much cuz I purchased a lot).

1. Cream Eye Shadow - Ivory - $190
This is absolutely AMAZING, I love this cream eye shadow! I use it as base eyeshadow, it prevent eyeshadow being creased or wear off. I have tested it out thoroughly. I have wear the same eyeshadow without applying this cream eyesahdow as base and then the next day applying the cream eyeshadow before putting on eyeshadow. This cream eyeshadow makes my eyeshadow stays all day. It also prevent oil from my eye (you know, HK is kinda hot - 30 degree)! There are 9 colour (I believe), but I found that Ivory is the best colour, next is Pink. They are a bit sparkle. I found that they also enhance the colour of the eyeshadow. This is definitely my favourite product from Shu in this trip!

2. EyeBrow pencil - 2 brown - $190
I have heard a lot of great reviews from the eyebrow pencil, so I cannot wait to buy and test it out! It is awesome! It is very easy to use and it allow a precise application. Also the best part is, you can always bring the eyebrow pencil back to Shu and they will sharpen it for you! Perfect for lazy person like ME!

3. Concealer brush - number 10 - (forgot the price)
I have had few conceler brush from other brand, but this is by far the best one. The hair of the brush is soft and capture the cream concealer very well. :)

4. Liquid Foundation - 764 - $390
I was debating to purchase face makeup from Chanel vs. Shu for a long while (you know I am a big Chanel fans) but then I think it is time to give it a try! The 764 that I chose was a medium coverage, the liquid foundation is very light (not greasy at all) and very easy to apply - just simply use a sponge to apply and you only require a small amount and it will cover your whole face! I love it!

5. Base foam
I think you have previously heard from me that I love their base foam. They have recently launched a new version with much lighter texture and higher coverage. I love it very much. There are days where I am lazy with my make up. I only apply it without putting anymore make up. It evens out your complexity on your face! A+ product!

7. Powder
I purchased this powder (again debating from Chanel vs. Shu). Well, it is cheaper in Shu and that I feel that it provide a similar texture, very soft and it set your make up very nicely! :)

8. 2 way cake -$390
love this product! Again it is perfect for touch up during the day, it is soft! And it touches up nicely! :)

9. Traveler brush set - $380 from HK airport ONLY
LOVE THIS SET. I have had Bobbi Brown set.. well, let's say I regret getting Bobbi Brown set! The set include - powder brush, blush brush, eyeshadow brush and a lip or eyeliner brush! Very compact, perfect for on the go!
